The Shed – Tasmania Landscape Painting | Original Australian Art

Tasmania landscape painting of a rural shed by Jaqueline Burgess, featuring open land, soft light and native grasses

THE SHED

This painting was inspired by my time in Tasmania, where the landscape feels expansive, quiet and deeply grounding.

Set within open land and soft light, the small shed becomes a focal point — not dominating the scene, but gently existing within it. There is a sense of stillness here, of life moving at a slower pace, where the land holds its own quiet rhythm.

The Shed explores the relationship between human presence and the natural environment. It reflects a kind of solitude that feels peaceful rather than lonely — a connection to place that is simple, honest and deeply rooted.

This piece forms part of my broader collection of Australian landscape paintings, capturing moments of stillness, reflection and connection across different regions of Australia.
